Coming Together, Growing Stronger WHAT IS A MUG-A-THON?   Mug-a-thon is IMPACT Bay Area's annual fundraiser!  Money raised is used for scholarships and to help IMPACT grow.  The Mug-a-thon is also a place for IMPACT graduates to join together, celebrate their fighting spirit, get a review mugging and see upper level fight scenarios.

HOW DOES IT WORK?   You, as an IMPACT graduate, ask people for donations to "sponsor" your mugging(s) or you can sponsor yourself.   For the first $100 you raise, you receive one mugging. For every $150 thereafter you receive an additional mugging  There will be a warm-up and technique review before the fights.   Remember, the same wonderful support you had in class will be at the Mug-a-thon.

HOW DO I GET SPONSORS?   By talking to friends, family, co-workers, and/or employers.   Be inspired by your own experience in your class and your commitment to supporting women who can't afford the course.   Please don't let any reservations about asking for money stop you.   Suggestions at this link will help you get started.
Sponsorship Suggestions

CAN I HELP WITHOUT GETTING A MUGGING?   Certainly!  You can sponsor someone else (classmate, assistant, instructor).   You can also be a Mug-a-thon volunteer.   We need help with food, setting up, decorations (it's a party), etc.   Call Cassandra Hazen, our office manager, at the IMPACT office at 510 208-0474.   If you're not able to attend, please consider collecting donations anyway and/or making a direct donation yourself to add to our Mug-a-thon total!   This is our largest fundraising event of the year.

IT'S A PARTY, IT'S FREE!   Come and enjoy the spirit and community.   You don't have to raise money or get mugged to be apart of the celebration.   There will be food, music, and demonstrations for all to enjoy.   Come see the KIDPOWER presentation.   Come support women and men fighting back and stopping violence.   Bring your friends and family.

SEE UPPER LEVEL FIGHTS   If you are curious about the Weapons or Multiple Assailants course, here's a chance to see what they are like and talk with women who have taken them.

BUY RAFFLE TICKETS!   SELL RAFFLE TICKETS!   One lucky person will win a $500 toward a Basics or Upper Level Course in the raffle.   Call the IMPACT office 510 208-0474 for raffle ticket sheets.   Make as many copies as you want and sell them to everyone.   Mail in the completed tickets with payment or bring them to the Mug-a-thon.   Please keep raffle ticket money separate from "mugging money."   Be sure to write complete names, addresses and phone numbers on each ticket.   The winner does not have to be present to win.

"I'm not an abuse victim of any sort of physical/sexual abuse or assault. I know few women who are victims or survivors. But taking the Impact Bay Area course has proven to be one of the best decisions I almost didn't make. I think every woman, regardless of age or experience, should take a Basics Course." - Karen (age 28)
