I had the good fortune to take the Men’s Basics Impact the weekend of October 18-20, 2002, after 28 years of living in fear following an assault at school in May 1974. Shortly after that weekend, I wrote a series of diary entries describing my class experiences. Two years later, I was assaulted at work in my taxi – and discovered that I had gained the tools and the skills necessary to deal with and end the fight.
The whole story is here: http://www.opendiary.com/entrylist.asp?authorcode=D442561&mode=date . Entries are listed in reverse order in the index; my class experiences begin with “I Defended a Boy Today”, and the assault in the taxi and its aftermath begin with “A View to a Knifing.”
