We have highlighted some important elements of how we protect your privacy here, and you can scroll down further for the details.
Online Privacy
Throughout this website, whenever you are asked for personal information (for example class registration or sharing your story), you have the option to share publicly or to keep it private. If you want to keep your name or information private, we encourage you to use the tools built in to this website to protect your privacy.
We use a service called NationBuilder for our website, to host our secure database and to send emails out to our subscribers. NationBuilder is designed to keep your personal information private while organizing IMPACT's data to more effectively bring personal safety and empowerment training to Northern California communities. If you would like more information about NationBuilder's privacy and confidentiality policies, click here.
If you want to avoid the web due to privacy or other reasons, please call (510) 208-0474 to speak with our Executive Director, Rocio Molina.
Student Confidentiality & Privacy
We begin our classes with a discussion about the importance of privacy and confidentiality. Students agree to respect one another's confidentiality. What is shared in class stays in the group/in the room. It is not shared with anyone outside of class.
Our instructors may share information about students within the teaching team to improve your experience in the class. For example, you may tell the whistle instructor about a previous abuse experience or a particular fear. The whistle instructor communicate this to the suited instructor so that they can tailor your fights to address your concerns, fears or memories.
Instructors, directors and staff are the only people who have access to your personal information when you register for classes or join our community. We have all agreed not to share your personal information or your story with anyone outside IMPACT without your explicit permission.
