2024 End of Year Giving Invitation
Help Impact Bay Area raise $65,000 to support empowerment self-defense classes in your community!
Your gift helps us...
Your gift helps us host classes at accessible costs to ensure all students interested in our self-defense resources can access the classes. This year we have been able to:
Remove barriers to scholarships - all of our public classes now include the scholarship registration option
Teach over 1463 students - This includes all public and private class students. Not all private class students are required to register, so there are even more Impact Alumni in our community!
Teach over 164 students free of cost - Along with providing scholarships to each class, Impact regularly hosts free 1-hour intro classes to introduce community members to our resource.
Soon we will publicize our annual report, to share more insights into how our work has impacted local communities this year.
We have some gifts for you!
Donations over $50 will receive an IMPACT Metal Water Bottle
Donations over $80 will receive an IMPACT T-shirt
Donations over $200 will receive an IMPACT hoodie
Donate today to support IMPACT Bay Area’s violence prevention programs!
Help us start our 2025 programming with the accessible and valuable resources that our courses offer.
With your support, we will...
1. Launch our public Impact: Ability Programming - Impact will launch public courses for community members with varying cognitive and physical abilities. Thanks to amazing partners, we delivered well-received pilot courses in 2024. Keep an eye out for our upcoming annual report for more information.
2. Offer more pro-bono affinity classes - We provided three completely pro-bono courses for vulnerable community members in 2024, including our BIPOC Women's Daylong Course. These courses were filled, indicating a real need in the community.
3. Offer scholarships for all of our public programs - We have already adjusted our approach to the sliding scale by adding the scholarship level directly to the registration page. We value accessibility and believe in spreading safety skills in our communities.
In 2025 we hope to address the needs of vulnerable community members by offering scholarship access to all of our classes, and pro-bono classes more regularly. With your help we would like to host pro-bono classes, starting in March 2025 in honor of Women's History Month.

Join The Board
We are a great team, tasked with ensuring mission-alignment, staff engagement, and financial security at Impact Bay Area. We believe that many hands make light work. Why might you want to join us? Our reasons for joining the board are as unique as we are. We want to promote women’s wellness and mental health, we want to apply and expand our professional skills, we want to work with like-hearted people with diverse backgrounds to help IMPACT meet the needs of our community. Whatever your reason, you are welcome here.
What exactly does a board member do?
- Review and weigh-in on how to run Impact Bay Area. This ranges from financial review, to class offering decisions, to planning and executing on fundraising events that keep the org moving.
- Participate in board meetings. Hear from our ED on program updates and progress in executing on long-term strategy. Contribute ideas and questions to identify when strategic shifts are needed.
- Join one or more focus committees to dive deeper into target issues like financial planning, DEI initiatives, and fundraiser event planning
-
Actively contribute to our annual board fundraising goal of $30k, via one or more of the following:
- Expansion of our donor network via outreach
- Fundraising event planning
- Reaching out and raising $3-5k annually, either through personal donation, your personal network, or by leveraging our strong IMPACT community and donor base
-
Engage with the IMPACT program
